Dick
Dickinson has been a photographer in Sarasota
for
over 32 years. Dick began his career in photography as a
photojournalist. He worked for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune
for 6 years and for the St. Petersburg Times for 3
years.
While working in photojournalism, Dick won numerous awards,
including a National Press Photographers Association first
place in the nation for spot news.
After
almost ten years in journalism, Dick returned to school
and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
He
then opened his own studio in Sarasota in 1978. Dick specializes
in business and commercial photography including brochures,
advertising, annual report, hotel and resort, aerial, architectural

and interior photography. The studio also offers
large format transparency and digital
output for fine art reproduction services.
Dick’s
photography has appeared in numerous local and national magazines
including Time,
Newsweek, Business Week, Women’s Wear Daily, and W. His
corporate clients have
included Ritz Carlton Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Hotels,
Florida Progress, Moffitt Cancer
Center, General Electric, Dupont, Kodak, and Mamiya Camera.
Dick’s
studio on South Pineapple Avenue is equipped with the latest
in digital photographic
technology. He also has an in house photographic lab and processes
film for many of the
areas top photographers
The
move into digital photography has allowed Dick and his staff
to offer many services to
his clients. These services include hi-res digital scanning,
digital printing and file output,
digital photographic retouching, video production, DVD production,
sales presentations
through inter-active video displays, and web and interactive
presentations.
